The Stakes

Art that does more than decorate.

Mass‑produced art lacks soul. NE.W's portraiture is a vessel — a connection to ancestry, feminine energy, spirituality and the quiet electricity of unwritten history. Each piece is an invitation to slow down and listen.

Meet the Artist

Nick‑Edward Woolley, "NE.W"

A Caribbean‑American visual artist based in New York City with over a decade of expertise. Mentored by the late Ronald Mevs and Patricia Brintle, NE.W has exhibited at the United Nations, Ethan Cohen Gallery (Kube), Gallery Monnin in Haiti and the BK Historical House in New Orleans. His work has been featured in Haitian Times, Le Nouvelliste, ABC and Univision.

His practice is a love letter to history, BIPOC representation, feminine energy and the syncretic spiritualities of the African diaspora — Voodoo and Catholicism alike. Through expressive portraiture he becomes an ancestral vessel, surfacing untold stories with mastery and pathos.
